Itinerary
Departure from Marrakech to Imlil (1,740 m). Meet your guide and mule team and begin an easy acclimatization walk to Aroumd village, surrounded by terraced fields and walnut trees. Dinner and overnight in a Berber guesthouse.
Trek through the Mizane Valley, passing Berber villages and the sacred site of Sidi Chamharouch. Gradual ascent to the Toubkal Refuge (3,207 m). Dinner and overnight.
Early start to climb Mount Toubkal (4,167 m). Enjoy panoramic views before descending toward the southern side of the massif and crossing Tizi n’Ouanoums Pass. Camp or overnight in a remote mountain area.
Descend to the beautiful Lac Ifni, the highest lake in the Atlas Mountains. Continue through quiet valleys to the village of Amsouzart, experiencing authentic Berber life. Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse.
A challenging but rewarding day crossing Tizi n’Oughat Pass, entering the dramatic Tessaout Valley, famous for its red rock formations and deep gorges. Camp or overnight in a mountain village.
Explore the upper Bougmez Valley with views of Mount M’Goun (4,071 m). Optional hike toward the M’Goun massif or nearby passes. Camp or overnight in a mountain lodge.
